FAQ
Why can’t my members see the document?
If your members can’t see a document in their portal, check the following:
Make sure the “Show to members” toggle is activated for that file.
Verify that the document is "Published" after editing.
Confirm that the member has access to the event where the document is uploaded
What does “Publish” mean?
When you publish a download, it becomes visible and available for others to download.
You’ll also receive a direct link to the file that you can use in:
Emails sent from Eventication
Text fields within your modules
Or anywhere else you want to share the document
Only published files are accessible through these links or visible to others.
My link doesn’t work in an email, what could be wrong?
If your download link doesn’t work, check the following:
Make sure the download is published, only published files have an active link.
Verify that the URL is copied correctly (no extra spaces or missing brackets).
Ensure the link is formatted like this: '[text you want to show](https://yourlink.com)'
Test the link in your browser to confirm it opens the correct file.
Why doesn’t my download link appear as clickable?
If your link doesn’t show as clickable, check the following:
Make sure you used the correct markdown format: '[link text](https://yourlink.com)'
Verify that the link starts with https:// or http:// otherwise it won’t be recognized as a link.
Save your changes and refresh the page, sometimes formatting appears after saving.
Make sure the download is published.
What does the download counter show?
The download counter displays the total number of times a file has been downloaded. It does not represent the number of unique users. If one person downloads the same file twice, the counter will increase by 2.
Can I see who has downloaded the file?
No. Because of GDPR regulations, Eventication does not track or display which specific users have downloaded a file.
Only the total number of downloads is shown in the counter.
If you need to share a file securely with a specific person or group, use the Conversations module instead. This way, the file is shared directly with the intended recipients
